Hi, I’m Saffron Wilson, I’m 15 years old and I have recently been selected to represent New Zealand at the Indoor Cricket World Cup. This will be held in Dubai in September this year and I really need your help to get there!
I started playing cricket when I was just 9 years old and I have proudly represented Nelson’s U15 team for 3 years now. During this time, I also played in the Central District’s U15 team and was captain in my last year. I was nominated as Nelson’s most valuable player of the season and am now playing for the Wakatu Men’s team. I was selected to play in the National Provincial Competition as well as being the youngest player selected to play for the Canterbury Women’s team.
Recently, at the provincial competition, I was named in the national team to compete at the Indoor World Cup in less than 10 weeks. I’m a full-time year 11 student at Nelson College for Girls and since I am 15 I do not have a full-time job. The cost for this trip will be $6500, which includes airfares, accommodation, team uniforms, food and tournament costs.
