RILEY-JACK HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR THE NZ SQUASH DEVELOPMENT SQUAD – IF HE CAN RAISE THE FUNDS HE WILL BE ABLE TO ACCEPT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Hi, I am Riley-Jack, I have recently been selected to be part of a New Zealand Junior Development Squad for squash.As part of the selection to the NZ Development squad I must to travel from Whangarei to Auckland four weekends during 2017 for trainings and commit to tournaments in Cambridge, Christchurch, Henderson and Oamaru. All of these trips include entry fees, travel and accommodation costs as well as equipment maintenance of strings and rackets. Living in Whangarei is awesome, however it does mean that the cost of coaching and traveling is a lot. Therefore I am looking for funding to help support my goal of competing internationally and meeting my commitments to the NZ squad. The costs for the Squad are $1100 to NZ Squash plus travel to camps and accommodation, costs of compulsory tournament entry, travel and accommodation x 4 approximately $4000, Coaching in Whangarei approximately $500. As an individual I have been helped a lot by my club Manaia Squash and Northland squash. Many of my coaches coach me for free and help me out and I would like to be able to contribute to them more.
Being in Whangarei means my parents need to be paying for a lot of travel and accommodation because I am C grade now and can no longer play in local tournaments. I currently mow lawns and coach younger students in our club to help fund my goals.
A friend and I have also run a couple of mini tournaments to raise funds for my squash. I would also like to compete internationally and this means loads of fundraising.
