Josh has been travelling away to race for several years now, requires assistance to fund the travel to coaching sessions in Auckland and for travel to some away race meets. Accommodation costs are sometimes unachievable and this can effect performance hugely.  The coaching sessions also involve a cost depending on which coach is running them- A weekends coaching is with Kurt Pickard (an Elite athlete) and has cost $50.00 for two hours coaching at Pukekohe.
The additional travel to attend the Northern Region Development Squad training which requires accommodation has increased the expense and made this hard for Josh to fund independently.

In BMX most of the coaching is done by parents, usually those who ride themselves or by the Elite BMX racers. They do this in order to fund their own racing as they have to race abroad to qualify for races like the World Championships. At our club we do not have any Elite riders – the nearest Elite rider who coaches is Michael Bias who races from North Harbour BMX Club in Auckland.

HIGHEST LEVEL COMPETITION

I compete at National level and ranked New Zealand 8 and North Island 3 in the 2013 – 2014 season and North Island 8th 2014-2015 season.

Ranked as A level in trials for the Northern region squad.  1 of 3 in his age group

I want to make it into the Senior Test Team when I am 14 – 15 years and would like to race as an Elite athlete (17 years+). I want to finish in the top 8 (preferably top 3) Nationally at next years BMX Nationals.
