Talofa, Fakalofa Lahi Atu. We are Devonntae & Sam and we have been selected to represent New Zealand in the Under 16 Kiwi Tag Blacks Team!
Here is our story..
We are aged 15 and 14 years old, and we both have been selected to play in the Under 16 New Zealand Kiwi Tag Blacks Team at this year’s World Cup of Tag, in Coffs Harbour Australia this November.
We have been playing sport since the age of 6 & 7 years old. Our first sport was rugby league playing for the Otahuhu Leopards. During the league off season, we now play TAG.
We have played for a variety of teams, including:
- Central Knights U14 (National Tag Champions 2017)
- American Samoa U16 (Oceania Nationals Champions 2018)
- De La Salle ( College School Champions 2017)
- Kiwi Tag Blacks U16 (Trans-Tasman Champions April 2018)
- We have also represented Toa Samoa, Fiji, Niue and the South Auckland region.
With success in winning the Trans-Tasman Championship, we have been selected to travel to Australia in November. With that comes an expensive cost for our parents, but we are determined to help them by seeking assistance through iSPORT.
We wouldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for our parents, family and friends who continue to support us whole heartedly with our passion. So we want to give back by giving it our all, at the World Cup and bring back the gold.
