GRANT ROUND COMPLETE

Description

Hi, I’m Bradley Harris, a 16 year old Enduro mountain bike racer from New Zealand.

I live in the small town of Alexandra, well known for its rocky landscapes and dusty trails.  I’m the current NZ MTB Crown Novice Enduro champion!

I am very passionate and motivated towards training, racing, and having a great time. I am seeking your support in order to take on the world at the Enduro World Series and continue living my sporting dream.  With your support, I will be on the road to achieving one of my lifetime goals!

I come from a background of BMX racing where I initially learnt many skills that I now use in mountain biking. I started racing at the age of 7 in Dunedin and then moved to Alexandra to race. I started mountain biking in 2015 and really enjoyed competing. Soon after this, I decided that it was time to transfer from BMX to mountain biking!  My first mountain bike race was the local and annual Linger and Die Enduro. Since then I have become a part of the Giant NZ gravity team. I’m currently working alongside ex World Cup racer Aari Barrett preparing for the season ahead of me.

In 2016, I was in a pretty tough position and wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to continue mountain biking. I had a serious crash while training for the National Champs.  This accident resulted in a helicopter ride to Dunedin Hospital and later that evening I found out that I had cracked vertebrae in my lower back.  It took awhile to get back on a bike and gain my confidence back but about a year later I was back racing again and have continued to thrive in the environment ever since. I take on new challenges each and every single day and am continually striving to achieve my personal goals.

Some of my achievements:

  • Winning day 4 of the Trans NZ Enduro, beating 2013 Enduro World champion Jerome Clementz
  • 1st  in the novice men ‘3 Peaks Enduro’ and 10th Overall
  • South Island Secondary Schools – 1stoverall for U17 (Cross Country, Downhill, & Enduro)
  • 1st Overall at the Dunedin Enduro Series (round 1)
  • Overall points winner of the Linger and Die Series (Cross Country, Downhill, and Enduro)
  • 3rd  U18 mens 2W Enduro round 4

With your support I will be able to travel to the Enduro events and strive towards my ultimate goal!

I want to thank you in advance for taking time out of your day to read my story.

I would be extremely grateful for any support that you could offer me.
