PLEASE HELP ME RAISE FUNDS TO CONTINUE TO TRAIN AND FOR TRAVEL COSTS TO MY TOURNAMENTS
I am Roanne Apalisok. I am 12 years old and attend Sancta Maria College. Â I am passionately involved in playing badminton as my sport. Â I am ranked number two in the U15 age group in New Zealand Badminton. Â Recently, I placed 2nd in Girls Singles, 2nd in Mixed Doubles & 2nd in Girls Doubles in the U15 National Championships held in Wellington. Â Last year, I won National titles both for Girls Singles and Girls Doubles and placed second in the Mixed Doubles in the National Championships for U13.
At the age of nine, I started winning club tournaments and eventually progressed to win New Zealand Badminton sanctioned tournaments.  I have been selected in the Badminton New Zealand U15 National Squad, a selection of elite junior players from all over the country.  In June 2016, I was selected to represent and play for New Zealand in the TRANS-TASMAN Test Series in Sydney and won the Girls Singles Title against the Australians.
At this early age, I am already expressing my desire to pursue this sport as a professional career and to become a world champion. Â One of my coaches, Ji Hyun Marr, a world champion herself (former World Number two), is my inspiration. Â With this in mind, I constantly strive to develop myself and train six days per week in order to further improve my skills.
ANY CONTRIBUTION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
I would like to appeal to you for financial support to help me sustain my training programme and pay for travel costs. Â My parents are feeling the burden of the costs associated with badminton at this level and I am unable to progress further and fulfill my dream in Badminton.
