Description
Hi, I’m Tahlia and I am 16 years old. I am a passionate and hard-working football player and am very honored to have been selected for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Football team to Singapore.
I began playing football for Amberley when I was 5 and by the age of 10 I was talent spotted and asked to attend regional and national training camps. Last year I switched clubs to play in the Premier women’s grade for Coastal Spirit and from this experience, I was then selected for the Canterbury Pride Women’s football team. This was a huge challenge for me being one of the younger players.
I love to represent my school and have been a member of the Rangiora High School 1st 11 since I was in year 9. In 2015 we won the McCarthy Cup in Auckland after winning the regional school’s competition for 2 years in a row. We also came 3rd in the National Futsal NZ tournament 2 years in a row. I am passionate about school sport and I am honored to represent my school team in a national team that will travel to Singapore.
I am striving to make a career out of playing Football and as a player and a coach, I look to be an inspiration for younger sportswomen. I hope to continue to be a member of the Canterbury women’s team in the years to come and continue to strive for any further opportunities to play for New Zealand. I can promise to always try my hardest and to make my school and region proud!
As I am a year 12 student currently studying NCEA level 2 as well as balancing my sporting commitments I really need your help to get to Singapore.
