Description
Hi, I’m Jasmine Milton, I’m 17 years old and I love Beach Volleyball! I have recently been selected to compete at the Youth Commonwealth Games in July this year!
I have always valued sport and started playing beach volleyball at the age of 15. I fell in love with the sport and really felt that it was my calling.
My first achievement in Volleyball was in 2014 when I was selected as part of the development tour that travelled to Australia. I have also travelled to America and Laos to compete in Volleyball at an international level. My overseas experiences have taught me so much about being an athlete and how to look after myself in order to compete to the best of my ability.
In 2016, I found out that Beach Volleyball had been added to the Commonwealth Games for 2017 and I was extremely excited!
My big goal this year was to make the the Youth Commonwealth Games team. I am thrilled to have achieved my goal and can’t wait to work hard on this journey and represent my country.
I play this sport for the people around me but I also play for myself. I really love the game, the tactics, the skill set, the plays, the action, and the intensity.
At the moment I am living in Auckland – away from my family so that I can train and have easier access to facilities and coaches.
