I am so grateful to be given this opportunity but the cost of t his tournament is a massive setback as it is so much money. My parents really want me to go on this experience, but simply cannot afford to pay such a massive total.

GRANT ROUND COMPLETE

Description

Sport is a massive part of my life, I am Deputy Head Girl/Sports Prefect at Tauraroa Area School, South-West of Whangarei. I began netball at the age of 7 and volleyball at the age of 14. I have been faced with many knee injuries over the past few years, ACL and MCL ligaments on the left knee, LCL on the right knee. This year I have been working really hard with physio sessions to be able to perform at my best ability in any sport that I take part in.

LAUREN ACTION 2

This year I had the opportunity to compete for my school in the Northland Area Schools Tournament in both Netball and Volleyball. I am really proud to say that Tauraroa Area School won the tournament overall. At the prize giving ceremony I found out that I was selected to represent the Northland Area Schools in the Netball A team and the Girls Volleyball Team to compete in the National Area Schools Tournament being held in Dunedin. I am so grateful to be given this opportunity but the cost of this tournament is a massive setback as it is so much money. My parents really want me to go on this experience, but simply cannot afford to pay such a massive total. I live in Whangarei with my mum, step-dad and 6 siblings. We are a single income family and money is tight with so many of us. This is a huge opportunity for me as there is also the chance to be selected for a North Island Team and then the NZ Team. As this is my final year of school, I will not have the opportunity to represent my school or Northland is this tournament again.

LAUREN ACTION1

PLEASE SUPPORT LAUREN REPRESENT NORTHLAND IN NETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL IN DUNEDIN!

THE EVENT

I have been selected to represent Northland for Netball A and Girls Volleyball in the New Zealand Area Schools Tournament. We will be competing in Dunedin from the 11th-14th July 2016. The total cost (incl flights, accommodation, meals) is $1285.00

THE SITUATION

I live with my Mum, Step-Dad and 6 siblings. We are a single income family of 9 so you can understand that we survive on a very tight budget. Being able to represent Northland at the National Tournament is really important to me but my family simply cannot afford to pay the full amount for me to be able to go.
