I am a young woman of Samoan decent, from a very young age I have loved to dance. I grew up living with my brother and my mother. Our path has been a difficult one and dance has allowed me to channel my emotion into my passion. The discipline, hard work and training is so demanding, I wake up everyday knowing my purpose and that is to dance. I also love fitness and I teach yoga with my mother. I use my dance to help creatively in my yoga classes.

Financially our life has been a struggle. Ballet training costs so much. My mother has been determined to not let money hold me back but I know it is hard. I know people think ballet is nice thing but the reality is it is so grueling mentally and physically. But the success of hard work is rewarding. I have worked so hard to get to this point. I recently went to Sydney and auditioned at 2 very elite pre-professional ballet schools and I was offered a place in both – I could not believe it.

After years of hard training I all of a sudden could see my path so clearly. The reality of actually becoming a professional dancer was in sight. I have had to believe in myself in a world that is so competitive – a world where people did not believe in me so it had to come from within. The hardship and the knocks that came my way have made me strong, the late nights catching public transport, walking alone in the dark just to get to lessons all over town, the sacrifices of a normal teenage life, living away from home with strangers, its made me so determined to succeed.

Successfully auditioned and accepted into the Alegria school of dance in Sydney’s pre-professional elite classical ballet school. Acceptance is limited to only 10 talented dancers who have reached a high technical level and through determination and hard work display the qualities to become professional classical ballet dancers. She was accepted into 2 prestigious schools after gruelling auditions and aspires to attend Alegria
