Initially funding is required for term fees for upcoming Term 4 and leading into Term 1 of 2016. Term fees are set at $700 per term. This is just for the weekly classes Monday-Friday, these fees do not include the weekly private lessons for competition dances and the competitions themselves.

Over the next year we have a number of events coming up that funding will be needed for. Mainly it will be Winter School in July at the NZ School of Dance in Wellington. This is for a week in the holiday’s and it’s full immersion in the NZ School of Dance environment. Costs for that is $500 for the week, plus accommodation and flights. There is also ballet and contemporary exams next year which are about $100 each. I also require 2 x new solo dance routines to add to my selection of competition dances as my older ones are nearly at their 2 year expiry date. These dances cost $300 each to learn. That money includes the music, choreography and polishing lessons. New costumes will also be needed at a cost of $200-300 each. Total for these “extras” would be approx $2300.00 for 2016.

We are a single parent whanau and I live with my mum only. My mum works 2 jobs just so I can dance and every cent she has I know, goes to our ‘dance fund’. My wider whanau all support me in my following my dreams and are behind me 100% but they can’t help with costs.

SPORTING GOAL:

My goal is to reach platinum gold level at Showcase on the Gold Coast and to ultimately audition and be selected to dance on cruise ships so that I can gain experience and hopefully be noticed by scouts so I can audition for a professional dance company overseas. I want to own my own dance studio.

HIGHEST COMPETITION LEVEL

I competed at “Showcase” on the Gold Coast in Jan 2015 in an elite team of dancers. We won all our sections and were chosen out of 5000 acts to compete in the best of the best Battle of the Stars event, we came second. I also dance my solo routines nationwide in competitions and always place top 3. I’ve also won “Most promising dancer over 12” and many other special awards. I dance at an elite level and has been selected for international travelling teams.
