GRANT ROUND COMPLETE

Description

Hi my name is Leianne, I am 16yrs old and currently a Year 12 student at Botany Downs College.

Here is my story..

I have been selected to represent New Zealand in the Under18 Girls team at the Tag Rugby World Cup this November in Coffs Harbour, Australia. I am honoured to represent my country as a proud Samoan Kiwi. This team has also competed at the 2018 Oceania tournament and Trans-Tasman competition, where we came away champions at both events. I was also fortunate enough to be awarded Most Valuable Player at the Trans-Tasman competition.

I have played sport since I was a toddler, running tiny tots races at the local athletics club. I have a passion for a variety of sports including netball, basketball, touch and rugby league for the Manukau Magpies. I have represented South Auckland Tag at the Junior and Senior Nationals, where I was recognised for my playing ability and received Most Valuable Player for my grade.  In 2017 I was awarded Senior Netballer of the Year, at my high school and selected to play in the rugby sevens inter-schools competition. Earlier this year I was selected to play rugby sevens for the Auckland Schools Girls Team, where we came away national champions.

I have an interest in the health and fitness industry and thrive on the challenges it promotes. I want to continue to represent New Zealand at an elite and professional level. Meeting new people and learning new things from coaches, trainers and players is a privilege and I love making the most of these opportunities.

My Mum has been my biggest fan from the start. She is always cheering me on from the side line, washing my uniform, washing my boots, massaging my body and working hard to pay my fees. To represent New Zealand in November,  I need to cover the costs of flights, accommodation, uniform, food/drink, first aid and player insurance.

I would like to take some pressure off my Mum and humbly ask if you could help me reach my goal. I would appreciate whatever you could donate. I know together with my bake sales and other fundraisers we can make it happen.

If you cannot help, I thank you for reading and ask for a prayer to keep myself and my team safe.
