GRANT ROUND COMPLETE

Description

Hi, my name is Landon and I am a competitive gymnast!

Here is my story..

I have been around gymnastics since I was born. Both of my parents are Women’s Gymnastics coaches and as a result, I have spent a lot of my life in the gym.  I grew up around famous athletes like Johnathon Horton, Chris Brooks and Simone Biles. I started my first gymnastics class when I was just three, and at five years old I was invited to train with a special group of boys to prepare for competitive gymnastics.

In July of 2016, I moved to Christchurch New Zealand as my dad started a job here.  I moved my training from the World Champions Centre in Texas, US to the Christchurch School of Gymnastics here in New Zealand.  This was a rough transition for me, as it was hard to make new friends, get to know the new coaches, as well as learn the new routines – as gymnastics here is different.  Over the past two years, I have adapted to the changes and continue to gain strength and learn new skills.  I have made new friends and I really love being at my new gym.

My goal for the next several years is to compete at the senior level here in New Zealand and my current goal is to place in the top 5 at Nationals.  This is why I need your help.  I will be representing Canterbury at the New Zealand Gymnastics Championships in October.  Gymnastics is a very expensive sport which my parents are responsible for paying.  I would love to help my parents with the expense of attending Nationals and would greatly appreciate any donations and promise to continue to work hard to achieve my goals.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story!
