Description
I am requesting funding so I can travel with the NZ u14 basketball team to Australia to compete in the Australian country cup. I have applied for funding through both my iwi with no luck to date. My family trust has donated $500 towards this and I have been doing shoot out comps and running raffles to help. So far I have raised $200 through these. My mum and I have spent a lot of time asking different companies for sponsorship or donations but this time of year is very hard to get help from them. So far we have rang, emailed and visited at least 20 businesses!
Selection for this team was done in October and we were only told 2 weeks ago that the whole trip would cost my family $3400 which needs to be paid in December. My dad works in the army and is away a lot and my mum stays at home to look after me and my brother and two baby sisters. So we only get my dad’s pay. They have been trying to save some money from my dad’s pay but can not have the full amount by the deadline.
$2700 will assist Kyla and her family pay for this trip

SPORTING GOAL
To strive to be the best I can in basketball while holding a positive attitude on and off the court. I aim to try and make selection for my region each year and to hopefully carry on representing new zealand in the next age groups each year. When I get older I would like to do a sports degree and use this knowledge to coach the youth in my community
