Hi, I’m Emily Mills. I am 15 years old and have been selected to represent Northland at the annual New Zealand Area Schools tournament which is held in Christchurch this July.
I need your help to get down there.
From a very young age, I played sport, the main sport I played was netball. It wasn’t until year 9 that I began to play volleyball. I was the captain of the year 9/10 team at Tauraroa Area School and my love of this sport began to grow. The main position i play is spiker and i absolutely love it.
In early May 2018 I was selected for the Northand Area Schools Girls volleyball team. I now get to travel to Christchurch to play in the national competition which I am beyond grateful to be selected for. I train every lunchtime or whenever I have the opportunity to.
I am a student at Tauraroa Area School and due to my age cannot get a job very easily and close to where I live. This is why I need your help to get the funds to be able to attend this competition.
I never thought I would compete in Christchurch playing a sport that I truly love.
