Description

Central Sports Club has been involved in sports since 1949 and has been incorporated since 1979. We affiliate to all National sports bodys by paying our fee every year. This year we affliate to the NZ touch so we can run Junior Touch teams in the Rotorua touch module, which will involve youth between the ages of 12yrs and 18yrs. The funding we require will be used to outfit these youth with Central touch shirts, shorts and shoes. All of our youth are from low income families which means many don’t have the needs to play touch and this would cut costs for the Parents tremendously allowing more youth to participate. Rotorua has a great base for Touch rugby and performs well in National teams.

WHY DO YOU NEED FUNDING

Funding is required for footwear, shorts and shirts.
Our main goal is to help increase the number of 12 to 17 year old players within our club so we can meet the criteria for Premier status for the 2016 season by targeting a summer sport which is close to Rugby League. We feel by supplying juniors with this gear will increase participation in sport because it will 1) meet the main costs of playing sport and 2) give them a sense of identity linked directly to our club.

BENEFITING THE COMMUNITY

The community will benefit from this funding by allowing more people to enjoy sports without the heavy costs which would usually stop people from participating. All players would be welcome to join and have access to this funding once they become affiliated with our club. This would encrease the health and wellbeing of the wider community.
